Every battery cell that ships from BattSource passes through our quality assurance process. We don’t just forward factory specs — we verify them.
1. Visual & Mechanical Inspection
Every cell is visually inspected for dents, scratches, electrolyte leakage, damaged shrink wrap, bent terminals, and other physical defects. Cells failing visual inspection are rejected immediately — before they reach your pack assembly line.
2. Voltage & Internal Resistance Screening
Each cell’s open-circuit voltage (OCV) and AC internal resistance (IR @ 1kHz) are measured using professional-grade battery testers. Cells are sorted into matched groups with <2% variance for capacity and <10% variance for IR — critical for pack longevity and safety.
3. Capacity Grading
Sample cells from each batch undergo full charge-discharge cycle testing at 0.2C to verify nominal capacity. We use standardized test conditions (25°C ± 2°C) and report actual measured values — not just datasheet numbers.
4. Cycle Life & Aging Test
For critical applications, we perform accelerated cycle life testing — measuring capacity retention over 50-100 cycles at 1C charge/discharge — to validate the manufacturer’s cycle life claims and detect early degradation patterns.
5. Documentation & Traceability
Each batch is documented with: test reports, manufacturer datasheets, UN38.3 test summaries, MSDS sheets, and lot traceability codes. QR codes on prismatic cells link back to individual factory production records.
